To use ROSA Desktop Fresh R10 with KDE 4 or Plasma 5, we recommend to have at least 2Gb of memory and a 10Gb partition on hard drive.

However, we have tested Fresh R9 on netbooks with 1Gb of RAM and found that after easy tweak our OS can be used on such machines.

A short recommendation for such computers is like the following:

  • Install 32bit edition of R10
  • Change SimpleWelcome menu in KDE 4 to standard menu (kicker)
  • Disable Baloo (desktop search) in KDE 4 (it's disabled by default in Plasma 5)
